GP Super Clinic
The Port Macquarie GP Super Clinic is a state-of-the-art health facility, providing easy access to affordable, high quality, holistic health care. The clinic includes GPs, allied health professionals and specialists working to improve health outcomes in the region.
With a great deal of community interest in the large development site and the unique health care model, we were asked to manage media and marketing during construction and to promote the opening of the clinic in November 2014.
We worked with the clinic directors to identify the key target audience and stakeholders, clarify key messages and leverage story opportunities.
The comprehensive communications program aimed to keep the community informed of progress during construction, promote the benefits of the clinic’s innovative approach, garner support from a range of stakeholders, and ensure the successful opening of the clinic.
The program included direct patient correspondence, refreshed website content, professional photography, advertorial features, advertising copy, media releases, and managing interviews with television, radio and print journalists.
The Port Macquarie GP Super Clinic received a substantial amount of favourable media coverage in the lead up, during and following the opening event in November 2014. The coverage successfully communicated the clinic’s key messages to the broader community.
The launch event was attended by 50 health professionals, representatives of local government and community organisations, and media. It featured on the front page of the weekly community newspaper and was promoted in local magazines, radio and television news reports.
Since the opening, interest and support from the local community has been incredibly high with new patients streaming through the doors.
